What is Impactium?

Impactium is a blockchain where verified impact, not profit, is the unit of value.

It is the on-chain foundation of Impactivism: the movement, and the economics, of building an Impact-Based Economy — one where the measurable good a person or organization creates is the thing of value, and it can never be taken from them, traded away, or hidden.

Most economies measure success in money, and treat the harm done to people and the planet as an "externality" — someone else's problem, left off the books. Impactivism inverts that. It puts impact on the books as the primary value, and it puts the true cost of delivery — the pollution, depletion, and social harm behind a product or service — on the books too, where it can be seen and accounted for.

The two sides of the ledger

Impactium separates two things that traditional money blends together:

  • Impactium (the value side). A permanent, non-transferable record of the verified positive impact you create. It is the chain's native measure of worth — and it is never traded. You cannot sell it, send it, or lose it. The impact you make is yours, forever.
  • 0TRUECOST (the cost side). The true accumulated cost of taking a product or service from idea to reality and putting it into someone else's hands — correlated to negative environmental and social impact. It is part of the same record, not a second unit: what a thing cost to make always travels with it when it is traded, while what it cost to deliver may be passed on — at the price of a smaller bonus.

This split is the heart of the model: we do not trade the good you do; we account for the cost of what is delivered.

Infrastructure, not an app

Retired term: "the Impact-Base". Impactium was described this way in these docs until 2026-09-10. It is superseded, not corrected — the name was never wrong about what it pointed at, and anything built on it was built on an accurate reading of what this page then said. What it lacked was a ruling: it entered as scaffold copy and was never adopted. The chain is Impactium, and it takes no epithet. The section below is the argument that phrase used to head, unchanged — it was always an argument for a base layer, never for the name.

Impactium is the base layer that:

  • records verified impact permanently (capsules, never pruned),
  • accounts for the true cost of delivery (0TRUECOST),
  • remembers — it is the Hive-Knowledge Graph of humanity, a durable, verifiable record that both people and AI can read as the memory of what humanity has actually done,
  • and grows by referral — every wallet comes into being because an existing member spawned it, weaving a living Chain of Impact through the whole network.

A transitional technology

Impactivism does not require civilization to make a hard cut-over to begin adopting it. dApps built on Impactium can accept any form of payment or resource — fiat, crypto, goods, services, barter — while Impactium itself stays untradeable. The resources exchanged in a transaction are recorded as resource legs and folded into 0TRUECOST, so impact accounting overlays existing commerce rather than replacing it. Adoption can start today, on top of the economy we already have.
